Come Holy Spirit
As the angel stays faithful to God above,
Come Holy Spirit inspire me with Your love.
Enlighten and guide me, strengthen and console,
Light Your unending fire in the depths of my soul.
Let the spirit move me every day
To seek a peaceful place and time to pray
Away from distraction of sound and sight,
Perhaps in the morning or dark of night.
Holy Spirit make my heart aware
Of others in need of Your loving care;
Cover me fully with Your amazing grace
So others may see Your light in my face.
When I stumble and sometimes fall
Please help me, Lord, to heed Your call;
And rise holding onto Your strong hand
Staying faithful to Your every plan.
May I never fail to help someone
Until my time on earth is done.
Then send Your angel to guide me home
To see You in glory upon Your throne!
Art of God
I searched the heavens
for the brightest hues,
the palest pinks,
the lightest blues.
I gazed upon God's
pallet of the sky.
No artist's canvas
could capture the
reflection in my eye.
'Neath the golden
glinting of the sun,
looking through webs
that spiders spun,
an angel glows
in colors light,
I am blessed
to see this sight.
Flying near
a pastel dove,
its colors created
from above;
a tapestry woven
with perfect love;
gifts of varied hue,
made for me and you.
I watch now
every single day
to see her presence
while I pray.
God's art is
beyond compare
behold our world -
it's everywhere!
My Precious Friend
You're a precious friend in every way
you're my sunshine on a gloomy day,
I send my love across the miles,
With hearts, and flowers and lots of smiles.
Though I'm rarely blessed to see your face,
I know you're full of charm and grace,
Your heart is open, caring, true,
As you write, the love shines through.
So on this day so filled with love,
Please catch the hearts from above
And flowers too I'll send to you,
I thank the Lord for all you do!
you're my sunshine on a gloomy day,
I send my love across the miles,
With hearts, and flowers and lots of smiles.
Though I'm rarely blessed to see your face,
I know you're full of charm and grace,
Your heart is open, caring, true,
As you write, the love shines through.
So on this day so filled with love,
Please catch the hearts from above
And flowers too I'll send to you,
I thank the Lord for all you do!
Forever
Forever have I known you,
you have always been there,
you were the breeze that blew
through the garden of my heart,
where love was growing
waiting patiently for your care.
I thought I knew about love
until you came along,
my personal angel from above,
who took my heart and hand
whispering love back to me
in the wind's song.
you have always been there,
you were the breeze that blew
through the garden of my heart,
where love was growing
waiting patiently for your care.
I thought I knew about love
until you came along,
my personal angel from above,
who took my heart and hand
whispering love back to me
in the wind's song.
Heart to Heart
Flowers, candy, roses galore
Are not what I desire
A loving heart forevermore
Will lift my spirits higher.
Do not expect a flower
To thrive without tender care
Provide sun and showers
Many blooms will they bear.
This is true for friendship
How sad to drift apart,
Let's nourish God's gift
By words from heart to heart.
For My Friend
On this day made for love
It's you my heart is thinking of,
Such a faithful friend you are,
Whether near or from afar.
Into my life you did bring,
Joy enough my soul to sing,
Within my heart's a special place,
Your sacred and forever space.
I send to you peace and love
Many blessings from above
A dove of peace will wing its way
To bring my heart to you this day.
It's you my heart is thinking of,
Such a faithful friend you are,
Whether near or from afar.
Into my life you did bring,
Joy enough my soul to sing,
Within my heart's a special place,
Your sacred and forever space.
I send to you peace and love
Many blessings from above
A dove of peace will wing its way
To bring my heart to you this day.
When Irish Eyes Are Smiling
When Irish eyes are smiling
Joy is all around,
For there's nothing like that sparkle
To wipe away a frown.
It's in the eyes of children
Their innocence shines through,
So smile when'er you see one,
It will come right back to you.
You don't need four-leaf clovers
For luck to come around,
Listen closely to your heart,
For love will make no sound.
Being Irish doesn't matter
For love to come your way,
Give all you have to others,
Please share it every day.
If you see an Irish angel,
You're as lucky as can be,
For rarely are they spotted
While spreading joy and glee.
Life is what you make it,
Take what the good Lord gives,
You'll find so much contentment
In the life that you will live!
Joy is all around,
For there's nothing like that sparkle
To wipe away a frown.
It's in the eyes of children
Their innocence shines through,
So smile when'er you see one,
It will come right back to you.
You don't need four-leaf clovers
For luck to come around,
Listen closely to your heart,
For love will make no sound.
Being Irish doesn't matter
For love to come your way,
Give all you have to others,
Please share it every day.
If you see an Irish angel,
You're as lucky as can be,
For rarely are they spotted
While spreading joy and glee.
Life is what you make it,
Take what the good Lord gives,
You'll find so much contentment
In the life that you will live!
May an angel of God
hear your prayers,
tuck you in tight,
stand by you at night,
So that you have no fears,
lullabies you hear,
your dreams be filled with love
for you're made by God above.
May you feel God's love
within your heart
each and every day
while happily you play.
And when you are in bed
angels surround your head,
hearing lullabies so soft,
may you dream of clouds aloft.

The Passion of Our Lord
Our ears don't want to hear
nor our eyes to see
the suffering of our Savior,
the man from Galilee.
We want to turn away
from the Passion of Our Lord
the pain upon his face
would rather be ignored.
The violence of those hours
is too hard to contemplate
Jesus, the man, but Son of God,
could have changed his fate.
The heaviness of that cross
upon his weakened back
the pain from crown of thorns
while on His face they spat.
They scourged Our Lord so much
it's hard to understand
how much love He had for us;
he kept His Father's plan.
Nails driven through His hands
through His feet as well
saved us from damnation
and eternal hell.
Please don't turn away
but allow yourself to grieve
for the son of man and God
in Him we must believe.
Our King's crown that He wore
Placed mockingly on His head
Not of jewels; thorns He bore
His precious blood was shed
He struggled on Golgotha's Way,
Every step was agony,
His burden for our sins would pay
Setting souls forever free.
His Kingdom not of this world,
He had no need of earthly things,
Glory awaited Him in heaven
The day He rose on angels' wings.
Reigning in heaven on His throne
His flock's arrival He awaits
We bear our cross - but not alone,
Our suffering He abates!
The Obituary of Jesus Christ
"And on the third day, He arose from the dead...and ascended into heaven and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father, Almighty..."
The stone is rolled away
Grave clothes tossed aside
Arising toward His Father,
In heaven He will abide.
His Father was well pleased
In His beloved son,
He gave His life for us,
For all heaven is won.
Reach out to Him
In homage and with love
As He now reigns
From His throne above.
The Legend of the Dogwood Tree
I Will Follow Him
I watched You carry Your cross
wept and mourned Your loss
saw You rise again...
this was a beginning,
not an end.
I pondered which way to go -
pick up my cross and follow
or choose the easy road,
not carry the
heavy load.
Don't want all that pain...
why not sunshine, rarely rain;
can't seem to bear the weight
with my slow and
labored gait.
This cross is heavy Lord,
I need my faith restored.
Must I be wounded too
because I follow You?
I already know the answer is yes,
but I want only happiness;
not possible, You say...
If I follow You today.
I know I have a choice,
and for that I must rejoice;
Your path is hard to follow
if in self pity I choose to wallow.
But today I make a change
and pick up my cross again;
the load seems lighter now...
are You helping me somehow?
This road of life has many bends
but I know the road I'm on will end
the new path will shine brightly,
peace will mercifully surround me,
and I will live with You eternally!
The Ballerina
She lived to dance and twirl,
slight framed little girl,
other dancers solemnly spin,
but on her face engaging grin.
Into womanhood she grew,
perfecting every step she knew,
aware that God bestowed this gift
she danced on...spirits to lift.
Fleet of foot, soul of grace,
pleasure shining on her face,
every audience to stun,
upon her toes she spun and spun.
Her leaps grew shorter over years,
but on that lovely face no tears,
in her heart she knew one day
she'd dance in heaven
where cherubs play.
Dancing as fast as she can,
every motion perfect plan
knowing she would soon slow down,
in her head, music's sound.
Worn shoes tucked away today,
the ballerina passed away,
a grandchild's foot they're placed upon,
inside her head the music has begun...

Angel Falls
She lives in quiet beauty
waterfall surrounds;
cascading flowers
are her bed upon
the ground.
Stars are her cover,
a perfect nightlight;
a moon for a
lantern - total
delight.
Springtime she relishes
flower perfumed air;
summer sun
warms silky
gold hair.
When autumn leaves fall,
feathery wings cover; on
autumn's chill nights
'neath her wings
she does hover.
Though winter winds howl
her good spirits remain
She knows in her soul
soon will come
spring's refrain.
Neither worry nor fret
as you travel life's way.
Dispel your fears
God provides
strength each
day.

Star Light Star Bright
Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight;
I wish I may, I wish I might
Have the wish I wish tonight.
Things aren't always what they seem;
You may not attain your dream.
Learn to find the peace in you,
Envy not what others do.
Dreamers seek a way to live,
Hope to others they will give.
Though your dream is not in sight,
Light another's star tonight.
Gaze upon the heavens now,
Angels guide your path somehow.
Just ahead that golden gate
Where everlasting joy awaits.
Waiting at the Gate
Heaven's new arrivals
Stand waiting at the gate;
God's angels by their side,
Their turn they do await.
A young man in the throng
Seems too young to be here
But God wants him by His side
And whispers in his ear...
"Come here My son and listen
To what I have to say -
Your time ran out on earth,
But this is a brand new day!"
"Heaven will be your home,
You'll walk My streets of gold,
No pain or earthly worries,
And an angel's hand to hold."
The young man nodded joyfully,
This was home forever more.
Love and peace everlasting,
Reside within Heaven's door!
It's hard to lose a loved one
They seem so far away
But forever in your heart
Is where they'll always stay.
Grief may overcome you,
So hold tightly to God's Hand,
One day you'll meet again
In Heaven's Promised Land.
Stand waiting at the gate;
God's angels by their side,
Their turn they do await.

Once in a Blue Moon
When the moon is blue
there glows a light
from the sky above
heaven's clouds so bright
cast a spell of love
with their misty hue.
No man in the moon
to be seen
but an angel's face
calm and serene
floating in space,
over lake and blue lagoon.
A moment to treasure
as rare as can be
a blue moon to rise
above the sea
gift from God so wise
who loves beyond measure.
The Shoe Man
Drawing by Vincent VanGogh
My alarm went off........................It was Sunday again.
I was sleepy and tired...................My one day to sleep in.
But the guilt I would feel...............The rest of the day
Would have been too much.................So I'd go and I'd pray.
I showered and shaved....................I adjusted my tie.
I got there and sat......................In a pew just in time.
Bowing my head in prayer.................As I closed my eyes.
I saw the shoe of the man next to me.....Touching my own. I sighed.
With plenty of room on either side.......I thought, "Why must our soles touch?"
It bothered me, his shoe touching mine...But it didn't bother him much.
A prayer began: "Our Father".............
I thought, "This man with the shoes..has no pride.
They're dusty, worn, and scratched...Even worse, there are holes on the side!"
"Thank You for blessings," the prayer went on.
The shoe man said....................a quiet "Amen."
I tried to focus on the prayer.......But my thoughts were on his shoes again.
Aren't we supposed to look our best..When walking through that door?
"Well, this certainly isn't it," I thought, Glancing toward the floor.
Then the prayer was ended............And the songs of praise began.
The shoe man was certainly loud......Sounding proud as he sang.
His voice lifted the rafters.........His hands were raised high.
The Lord could surely hear...........The shoe man's voice from the sky.
It was time for the offering.........And what I threw in was steep.
I watched as the shoe man reached....Into his pockets so deep.
I saw what was pulled out............What the shoe man put in.
Then I heard a soft "clink"..........as when silver hits tin.
The sermon really bored me...........To tears, and that's no lie
It was the same for the shoe man.....For tears fell from his eyes.
At the end of the service............As is the custom here
We must greet new visitors...........And show them all good cheer.
But I felt moved somehow.............And wanted to meet the shoe man
So after the closing prayer..........I reached over and shook his hand.
He was old and his skin was dark.....And his hair was truly a mess
But I thanked him for coming.........For being our guest.
He said, "My names' Charlie..........I'm glad to meet you, my friend."
There were tears in his eyes.........But he had a large, wide grin
"Let me explain," he said............Wiping tears from his eyes.
"I've been coming here for months....And you're the first to say 'Hi.'"
"I know that my appearance..........."Is not like all the rest
"But I really do try................."To always look my best."
"I always clean and polish my shoes.."Before my very long walk.
"But by the time I get here.........."They're dirty and dusty, like chalk."
My heart filled with pain............and I swallowed to hide my tears
As he continued to apologize.........For daring to sit so near.
He said, "When I get here............"I know I must look a sight.
"But I thought if I could touch you.."Then maybe our souls might unite."
I was silent for a moment............Knowing whatever was said
Would pale in comparison.............I spoke from my heart, not my head.
"Oh, you've touched me," I said......"And taught me, in part;
"That the best of any man............"Is what is found in his heart."
The rest, I thought,.................This shoe man will never know.
Like just how thankful I really am...That his dirty old shoe touched my soul...
You might be best friends one year,
Pretty good friends the next year.
Don't talk that often the next year,
Don't want to talk at all the year after that.
So, I just wanted to say,
Even if I never talk to you again in my life,
You are special to me and you have made a difference in my life.
I respect you, and truly cherish you.
The Gift
Packages with bows
ribbons tossed aside,
fade quickly from our mind,
though the feelings don't subside.
The fragrance of perfume
may quickly fade away,
but the memory of love
is in our hearts to stay.
When you warm someone's heart
with your kindness and care,
you give a gift - part of you -
a treasure oh so rare.
A gift of everlasting love
will touch a loved one's heart -
no greater gift in all the world...
than the love that you impart.
Flowers of Spring
April showers replace
Snow's cold embrace
Thoughts turn to spring
And all the joy it brings!
Winter garments shed,
And all that appears dead,
Emerges from the sod
Blooming for our God.
Pushing through the ground
Tiny buds can be found,
Then comes the rain and sun
New life has begun.
Butterflies will soon be here
From cocoons they will appear,
And hummingbirds so sweet
Searching flowers for a treat.
This welcome gift of Spring -
Season for hearts to sing
Relish each and every day,
Before petals fall away.
As each cycle of our lives
New seasons soon arrive
All in God's perfect plan...
Each new year a gift to man!
Snow's cold embrace
Thoughts turn to spring
And all the joy it brings!
Winter garments shed,
And all that appears dead,
Emerges from the sod
Blooming for our God.

Keeper of the Doves
In the very early morning
when everything is still,
wings begin to flutter,
birds begin to trill.
Gathering in pairs,
doves ready to take flight;
on lofty currents of air,
oh what a heavenly sight!
Beyond sky's unseen borders
an angel calmly waits
feathers brush her soft cheek,
tenderness she appreciates.
This majestic angel
is the Keeper of the Doves;
they await her every visit
for she lavishes her love.
This heaven-sent angel
could teach us much today
love will return to you...
if you freely give it away.
Dreaming of an angel's love,
cherubs at her feet,
face serene far above,
makes my day complete.
Wonder what she's thinking
perched on lofty cloud
stars in eyes twinkling
thoughts not said aloud.
Closing eyes, awaiting sleep,
no fear in me resides
for careful watch she keeps...
she stays right by my side.
With rays of sunshine on my face,
I greet the lovely dawn,
feeling comfort of her grace
the memory lingers on.

My Blue Angel
At the end of the day,
when stars come out to play
'neath the moonlight's glow,
through the clouds below,
God's heaven is on display.
This is the time of night,
when all is right
for my angel to appear;
I feel her presence near,
my heart knows no fear.
She brushes my face
and I feel her embrace
the touch of her wing
makes my heart sing,
a message to me she brings.
"God has things you need to do,
He promises to help you through...
He hears your every prayer,
sending grace for your despair,
of your every need He is aware."
Night turned into day,
and my angel walked away,
but she left a star behind
knowing peace I would find -
God's Angels are so kind.
She waits by the fire,
as the flames dance higher,
looking each night
for His face.
She knows in her heart
that they never will part,
He left her with His grace.
She feels never alone,
her Lord is her own
lighting her dreams
with His love.
She cannot conceal
her thoughts are revealed
by her heart to Him above.
May it be your desire
to build a bright fire
within your soul
and heart anew.
Follow Him today,
without delay,
your spirit He will renew.
as the flames dance higher,
looking each night
for His face.

Heart and Soul
Should words said in haste or thoughtless comments escape my lips,
should I forget to utter a word of praise or kindness
to someone in need, please
seal my lips, Lord, lest
they hurt a friend or
stranger.....I
plead.
If ever my heart is hardened and fails to feel
the anguish that others suffer or my
deeds should cause pain through
negligence, please restore me
with your grace so that I may
ever be aware of others'
needs.
I pray that my soul would never be
bereft of love and hope, two of
your greatest gifts to mankind.
Should that day come, please
restore my soul with Your
light and love for all
the world to
see.
"Oh God and King, please expand my opportunities and my impact in such
way that I touch more lives for Your glory. Let me do more for You!"
Excerpt from "The Prayer of Jabez
Please pray for yourself.
Please pray for those you love and especially for those you don't.

I send you peace and love
With a red rose and a dove May your night be blessed By our God above. I pray that while you sleep Angels hover - watch to keep And when the new day dawns Hills you climb will not be steep. Precious friend you are to me May we learn through our journey If your troubles seem too much Take my hand, for there I'll be. |
Above and Beyond
Beyond billowing clouds so high
Farther than the eagles fly
An angel gazes at heaven afar -
Her home with God amidst the stars.
For just a moment the clouds part
She spies our earth and all God's art
Riveted to this space and time
By vistas far beyond sublime.
A silent visitor to our world
Slowly angel wings unfurl
And hold her in this wondrous place
Such beauty given by His grace.
Gazing up to heaven above
God summons her with His love
Earthly visions left behind
Will linger happily in her mind.
Farther than the eagles fly
An angel gazes at heaven afar -
Her home with God amidst the stars.
For just a moment the clouds part
She spies our earth and all God's art

Take My Hand
Take my hand, precious child
Walk with me for a while
Up the hill where I carried
My cross.
Do not fear, don't despair
For I'll be with you there
I know how you feel
For my loss.
Yes you sin every day
But please don't turn away
I'll forgive and forget
Your mistakes.
At the top of the hill
Though they wounded me still
I forgave them for pain
I did take.
No matter what you have done
I'll be here, my Father's Son,
To comfort, forgive
To wait.
For some day we will meet
On a paved golden street
Where I'll reach out and
Open the gate.
Guardian at the Gate
With stately elegance she stands
Outstretched arms,
Reaching hands,
With love and kindness
She will disarm:
"Please enter here...
Leave behind pain and harm."
There is a place prepared for you
At the Father's table
Just as Jesus said He'd do;
The feast awaits,
Your soul is able,
To join the throng
Total joy He will enable.
You will live in harmony
In peace forevermore
Your soul is free
To fly on high
Inside God's golden door,
Hold fast to an angel's wing,
Through His universe you'll soar!
I Am With You Always
Every prayer do I hear
All problems I see
You will receive an answer
Be still and listen to me.
My voice is the wind
That rustles through trees
My footsteps are found
In the sand by the sea.
As you gaze into the sunset
Rich with different hues,
Know that I am in those clouds,
I'm watching over you.
I am there in the summer,
My song the robin sings,
Butterflies of many colors
Carry love on fragile wings.
When April showers fall,
And my lovely flowers grow
See Me in the garden -
I'm the dew upon the rose.
I am with you always,
Every day for every reason;
Feel My presence near,
Season after season.
Come to My Garden
My garden is a secret place,
A haven from the heat;
Full of shade and flowers
With fragrances so sweet!
I know that He is with me
As I view His wondrous gifts
In companionable silence,
'Neath clouds which slowly drift.
No other place on earth
For me is this serene,
Surrounded by God's beauty
My soul feels gently cleaned.
Birds splashing in their bath,
In reverence cease their song,
In the midst of their Master
They quietly fly along.
As my Lord sits with me
All problems disappear
Tomorrow I'll return
His sweet voice I will hear!
Changing Seasons
As summer nears its end,
wild flowers in the hollow
struggle against the wind
and the cold that follows.
For everything there is a season
and a purpose under heaven;
summer rains will come no more,
snowflakes for our pleasure given.
The changing of the seasons
is God's loving way
of teaching us thankfulness
for each and every day.
Acceptance of God's provisions
with unconditional love
readies us for winter,
then His glorious home above.
wild flowers in the hollow
struggle against the wind
and the cold that follows.
For everything there is a season
and a purpose under heaven;
summer rains will come no more,
snowflakes for our pleasure given.
The changing of the seasons
is God's loving way
of teaching us thankfulness
for each and every day.
Acceptance of God's provisions
with unconditional love
readies us for winter,

The Angels of God
She carries God's bounty within her loving arms
and gives it away with kindness and charm.
Her only task - to share God's love
so all glory be given to
Our Lord above.
In the dark of night she sits on the moon
guiding our path in darkness and gloom.
She scatters stars from above,
representing her Master
she radiates love.
Though graced with beauty and sweet as can be;
this modest angel works tirelessly.
Her good deeds are many
but kept to herself...
never displayed as trophies
on a shelf. The example
she sets is the right way
to live...for it pleases
the Lord when in
silence we give.
She's flawless in every way...God made her so;
beauty and grace and love from her flow.
She spreads her wings with the
joy of life, while guarding us
through struggles and strife.
In daytime her large wings
provide shade; at nightfall
they'll cover...so you won't
be afraid. God sent her -
she's there every day -
a guardian angel
to guide , watch
and pray.

Keeper of the Stars
Sitting on the moon
is an angel so bright
sprinkling stars
to light up our night.
Heaven's starry heights
will not be obscured
shadows swept away
by this angel so pure.
No man in the moon,
an angel instead
many stars twinkling
'round her sweet head.
Night holds no fear
darkness has no sting
the angel above
keeps stars shining.
The Mirror
Mirrors only show a part
Of who and what we are,
It's the love within our heart,
That lights the brightest star.
The path of least resistance
May appeal to your soul,
While your eternal existence,
Depends upon your goal.
Never forsaken or lost
Nor emptiness resides
When you focus on Christ's cross,
See salvation in His eyes.
May the reflection in your eye,
Glow outward from within;
On the mirror don't rely...
And inner beauty will begin.
An angel from God's heaven
Drops petals from above
Strewn upon our pathway
Scattered with her love
The fragrance of their perfume
Gently flows on gusts of air;
Pick a few as you are traveling
For their sweetness is so rare.
The petals in her bouquet
Are friends we've come to know,
Those met in a lifetime in
A garden where love grows.
You, too, can be an angel,
With love be generous
As you travel on life's highway
Leave a trail of happiness.

My Name Is Mary
My name is Mary
And I'm just fifteen
I'm alone and afraid
For an angel I've seen.
I'm an ordinary girl
Who loves the Master
The news from the angel
Makes my heart beat faster.
She said I will carry God's son
For I am a virgin pure
How will I get through this?
I'm not very sure.
I feel unworthy
For such a task.
I have no choice;
I was not asked.
Inside me now
A Savior grows
I'll nurture the babe,
This God knows.
I know that the Father
Makes no mistakes
But deep inside
My heart does ache.
This child in me
Will change the world
I feel so humble,
A simple young girl.
I will hold this child
Close to my heart
Knowing too soon
We both will part.
He'll ascend to His Father
In robes of white.
We will meet again
On another silent night...
My First Christmas in Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees
around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars,
reflecting on the snow
The sight is so spectacular,
please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs
that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare
with the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you,
the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description,
to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not so far away,
We really aren't apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones,
You know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.
I sent you each a special gift,
from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory
of my undying love.
After all, love is a gift
more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important
in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other,
as my Father said to do.
For I can't count the blessing
or love He has for each of you.
So have a Merry Christmas
and wipe away that tear
Remember, I am spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.

Brightest Night
On the brightest night of the year,
As families gather this eve,
Celebration and joy reside here,
Our Savior tonight we receive.
Trees cast an aura of shimmering gold
Matching packages 'neath their boughs
Yet a baby shivers in the stable cold
Humble beginnings God allows..
While gifts we are exchanging,
Angels herald news this night
Of the Christ that will be changing
Our future and eternal plight.
So raise your voices loudly,
To praise this tiny King,
Shepherds, Kings of nations bow,
For salvation He will bring!
Santa's Holy Night
The lights upon the Christmas tree,
Illuminate this moonless night,
Despite the cold and weariness,
Santa glows in heavenly light.
He has found the reason
He delivers gifts tonight,
The babe he touches tenderly
Brings hope and love and light.
The greatest gift to mankind
Is the child he gently holds;
He'll give His life for sinners
This babe shivering in cold.
So let the bells ring louder
Than the jingle of Santa's sleigh
Let us all remember
Our Savior's birth this day!
Illuminate this moonless night,
Despite the cold and weariness,
Santa glows in heavenly light.
He has found the reason
He delivers gifts tonight,
The babe he touches tenderly
Brings hope and love and light.
The greatest gift to mankind
Is the child he gently holds;
He'll give His life for sinners
This babe shivering in cold.
So let the bells ring louder
Than the jingle of Santa's sleigh
Let us all remember
Our Savior's birth this day!
Joy to the World
What joy this Christmas angel brings
flying quickly through the night,
she carries news of Jesus' birth,
our candles are her light.
This is the sweetest night on earth,
she hastens to spread word,
as wise men ride to Bethlehem,
angel choirs above are heard.
Swiftly through this starry night,
she moves with speed and grace,
as candles guide her on her path,
to a stable - his birthplace.
Oh, if only we were angels
just for this special eve,
though eye not seen nor ear heard,
in Christ we do believe
Christmas Memories
The sights and sounds of Christmas
Its memories within us dwell,
Balsam trees with glowing lights,
Music for our hearts delight,
Past revisted...tales to tell,
Treats with wondrous smells.
Icicles dripping from our homes
Roofs decorated with snow
As white frosting on a cake,
Santa's elves helping names to take,
Familiar sounds we know,
Memories etched in hearts a'glow.
Snow falling softly in lacy flakes
And music conjuring up the past,
Christmas magic casts a spell
Of carols sung and pealing bells,
Fond memories amassed,
And thoughts of love to ever last
Night of Light
Deep in the woods
on the Eve of Christ's Birth,
angels are decorating
a tree tonight.
As far as Bethlehem
a glow is seen,
it's the top of their tree
and the star's so bright.
From another land
three wisemen ride,
following a star
in the east.
They bring gifts to
that baby boy
whose birth tonight
will soon our souls release.
Both the angels
and the wisemen know
the unseen gift
of that special night.
A child is born
in Bethlehem
to change our world
from dark to light.
And the Angels Sang
On the night of Christ's birth
the sky was alight
not with reindeer or sleds
but with angels in white.
The best choirs in heaven
sang loudly and clear
proclaiming the birth
of the Christ Child is near.
The night was cold,
but the angels were warm,
they called out in joy
for the shepherds to swarm.
They sang with such fervor
"Come one, come all!"
"for A Savior is born
to deliver you all."
And so they came,
from near and afar,
wisemen and shepherds
followed the star.
The stable was found,
they peered within
viewing the babe
born without sin.
So sing with the angels
to heaven on high
Our Savior is born,
salvation is nigh!
the sky was alight
not with reindeer or sleds
but with angels in white.
The best choirs in heaven
sang loudly and clear
proclaiming the birth
of the Christ Child is near.
The night was cold,
but the angels were warm,

So sing with the angels
to heaven on high
Our Savior is born,
salvation is nigh!
The Little Shepherd Boy
The Tree
The Christmas tree stood alone
And hanging from its boughs
Were lights aglow
And falling snow
Fluffy as a cloud.
Atop the glorious tree
Sat a glimmering star
So very bright
Its perfect light
Drew people from afar.
Each and every ornament
Was hung with loving care
To grace the tree
So fittingly
A gift for all to share.
We await the birth of Jesus
So for Christmas
We prepare
While decorating, anticipating
Our Savior oh so fair.
May we all remember
A symbol is the tree
Of Our Lord's fate -
He'll bear its weight -
His cross this world will free.
The Christmas tree stood alone

Home for Christmas
Down the lane to home I go
Fresh tracks in powdered snow
Beneath the trees
Lights beckon me
Such beauty they all show.
Farther down the lane
Through frosted window pane,
The tree's aglow
I hear a song I know
A beloved familiar refrain.
Little noses pressed to glass
Shout, "He's home at last!"
A warm welcome
So glad I've come
To share a joyous Christmas.
So many will not make it home,
Some serving us; some alone
Pray for them,
A loud anthem
That can be heard
Wherever they may roam.
But deep within their hearts
Though they're far apart
In their minds
May peace they find
Keeping Christmas in their heart.
Moonlight Swim
When day is nearly done,
And the lake is clear as glass
A goose soundlessly swims
In the moonlight dim;
The lake is his at last.
No ripples does he make
Nothing moves in his wake
As he glides slowly by.
Moon swept shores await
His departure from the lake
Stars are sparkling on high.
Contentedly he swims on
Though daylight is gone;
This quiet time is best
For tomorrow lake will fill
With noises loud and shrill
No time for solace or rest.
We, too, need quiet time,
Peace filled hour sublime
With music or with prayer
To ponder at day's end
How wisely time we spend
While for tomorrow we prepare.
And the lake is clear as glass

God of Love
God of love
hovering above
You light the fire
of my heart's desire.
When troubles reign
Your love remains.
You inspire my soul
when I don't feel whole,
keep me looking up
refilling my cup.
Impossible to conceal
for my soul does reveal
every temptation,
yet You give inspiration.
Despite my deception,
I feel Your perception...
that for all I've sinned
a new life can begin.
I will be forgiven,
away my sins be driven.
Doubt will fade
in life's masquerade,
the memory of it gone,
and my soul reborn.
Oh God of the Trinity,
You have set me free,
You give me protection,
I behold a ressurection!
Candle in the Night
Darkest night when
the moon's not seen
and stars are blocked
by a cloudy screen;
nature's light
hid from view,
makes shadowy corners
frightening and new.
In many homes
glow of candlelight
warms the heart,
chases shadows
of the night.
Light a candle
you will see
how its glow
comforts instantly.
Light warms the heart,
body, and soul,
keeps our faith
strong and whole.
Knowing now that
God is near
keeps His children free of fear.
Let your heart not be troubled
by a simple storm;
God's candles and angels
will keep you warm...

Curtain Call
When the stages of life
Have all passed away
And its curtains
Will soon gently fall;
Whose hand will you hold?
Whose voice will you hear
Make the last curtain call?
If life is but a stage
And we are merely players
When your run is over
Did Christ direct you?
Did the Spirit
Move you to prayer?
Has your role been
One of witness?
Spreading the word?
Living as Christ?
Showing the world
Your spiritual fitness?
As on eagle's wings you
Are lifted to heaven above
Will His angels bear you up?
Will the Spirit guide your path
Toward the living God
Soul shining with love?
A new role awaits you
On a stage paved with gold
Peace you've found,
All memories erased...
Beyond heaven's gates
God extends His hand to hold.
Eyes of My Savior
The eyes of my Savior
See through my heart and soul.
He knows my deepest secrets;
He knows my sins untold.
My life plays before Him
As a movie on a screen,
Every sin displayed,
An act with many scenes.
Thoughts within my heart
No one else may know.
Jesus sees my worst and best
While in valleys I grow.
Please reach for His hand,
Grasp it and don't cry;
His strength will lift you up
To that mansion in the sky.
See through my heart and soul.
He knows my deepest secrets;
He knows my sins untold.

The Swan
She glides through morning mistt
In quiet pre-dawn hour,
Softly water's kissed
By gentleness not power.,.
Stretching neck to preen
These fluffy feathers white
Her demeanor so serene
Captured by sun's light.
Essence of beauty and grace
Long neck perhaps to view
The glory of God's face
As no other creatures do.
Ugly duckling nevermore
Now elegant and flawless
Wake barely lapping shore
The swan...timeless elegance.

Teach Me to Pray
My heavenly Father in His love
Sent me from His throne above.
Every day with me you play,
Please now teach me how to pray.
Give me strength to sustain
My soul in times of loss or pain;
When help I need every day
To the Lord I'll kneel and pray.
Toys and fun fill my days,
But deep inside I need to praise
The God who helps me to achieve,
My hope is Him I now believe.
Eternal faith...never lost
Will guide my path to the cross;
So if you love me as you say,
Teach me how to pray today.
Let Your Light Shine
Do you live in the dark,
or in the light?
Can your past be revealed
or hidden from sight?
Do you live in fear
of secrets untold,
or allow all to see
your life unfold?
Let your light shine
before all men,
so they see the way
to Our God in heaven.
May the words of your mouth
be tender and sweet,
neither harsh nor loud,
nor whispered deceit.
Do you hide in the shadows
of the dark of night,
or turn your face
toward the morning light?
God gave us His best -
His only son.
Let us follow his steps
for the battle is won.
God bless your season of Epiphany and always remember:
"Not everyone who saith unto me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven."

The Pledge of Allegiance by Red Skelton (a must hear)
please click to play
The following words were spoken by Red Skelton about his favorite teacher, Mr. Laswell. Mr. Skelton admired this teacher who felt his students had come to think of the Pledge of Allegiance as merely something to recite in class each day. The following are Mr. Laswell's theory on the Pledge of Allegiance as spoken by Red Skelton.
"I've been listening to you boys and girls recite the Pledge of Allegiance all semester and it seems as though it is becoming monotonous to you.
If I may, may I recite it and try to explain to you the meaning of each word?"
I
me, an individual, a committee of one.
Pledge
dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self pity.
Allegiance
my love and my devotion.
To the flag
our standard, Old Glory, a symbol of freedom. Wherever
she waves, there's respect because your loyalty has given
her a dignity that shouts freedom is everybody's job!
United
that means that we have all come together.
States
individual communities that have united into 48 great states.
Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and
purpose; all divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to
a common purpose, and that's love for country.
and to the republic
a state in which sovereign power is
invested in representatives chosen by the
people to govern. And government is the people
and it's from the people to the leaders, not from
the leaders to the people.
For which it stands, one nation
one nation,
meaning "so blessed by God"
Indivisible
incapable of being divided.
With liberty
which is freedom -- the right of power to live one's
own life without threats, fear or some sort of
retaliation.
And Justice
the principle or quality of dealing fairly with others.
For all
which means, boys and girls, it's as much your
country as it is mine.
(Recitation of The Pledge of Allegiance)
Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country
and two words have been added to the pledge of Allegiance...
UNDER GOD
Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said
that is a prayer
and that would be eliminated from schools too?
Soldier's Sacrifice
Lift up our soldiers
with power of prayer,
God bless and keep them
as they protect everywhere.
They risk their lives
each and every day
upon foreign soil,
keeping terror at bay.
Neither desert winds
nor storms that blind
will halt their courage,
the rarest kind.
Those who are lost
have not died in vain;
remember them always...
our loss - heaven's gain.
Pray for all soldiers
and the hope prayers bring
for a safe return to
where freedom rings.
with power of prayer,
God bless and keep them

Where Eagles Flew
What star spangled banner
waves on high
in the wind
where eagles fly.
What stirs hearts to song
when heard
above the throng,
touching you and I.
The U.S. flag,
its stars and stripes,
lift our souls
to unscaled heights.
Within our breast
beat hearts proud
of all who fought
with all their might
through long and
perilous night.
All honor and tribute due
to those who
died where
eagle flew.
And those who
fought on - not
giving ground,
who forged ahead,
losing life
instead.
What debt of gratiude
we owe to all
those who answered
duty's call.
God bless you
for freedom's ring,
thank you for
pride you bring,
you're in our hearts
e'er more to stay...
thank you for
our country saved -
land of the free,
home of the brave!
Up Where We Belong
I am the mighty eagle
Flying high and proud.
I stand for rights and freedom
Which many aren't allowed.
My eyes are keen and sharp,
Scanning all below;
High atop the tallest tree
I see more than you know.
Storms do me no harm
Far above them I fly;
My wings are my strength,
My home - God's open sky.
Steady as a solder,
I always stand my ground.
For wherever there is trouble
In the fray I'm ever found.
The enemy is stealthy,
But God is on my side,
I'm ready to do battle,
I'm a soldier who won' hide.
It takes a mighty warrior
To conquer tyranny,
So stand beside all those
Who ensure our liberty!
I am the mighty eagle
Flying high and proud.
I stand for rights and freedom
Which many aren't allowed.

The Awakening
From confinement of cocoon
The butterfly emerges,
On beautiful wings so soon
Freedom through her surges.
Her time of hibernation -
Is Heavenly Father's plan,
To grow into salvation,
And new horizons scan.
The butterfly will hover
Near flower buds so sweet;
Many colors are her cover,
Unconcerned while seeking treats.
Wrapped safely in strong arms,
One day we, too, will fly,
And on wings of angels swarm
To join Him in the sky.
God promises eternity
And life forever more;
Prepare your heart fervently
Through gates of heaven soar!

Home Before Dark
Quickly blue skies turn to grey
I must hurry on my way
When clouds are black
I won't look back
My home seems far away.
Suddenly subsides my fear,
A loving presence looms near
An angel of love
Sent from above,
Though nothing do I hear.
As rain spatters on the ground
And thunder crashes all around,
No panic do I feel
Sensing peace so real
The path to home is swifly found.
Many storms will come and go
Life can be so full of woe,
Always by your side
An Angel will abide,
A guiding light our path to show.
A lantern of the lonely night,
God's heavenly gracious light,
Moonlight below
Our way to show -
A welcome, glowing sight
Focus on the path ahead
Feel empowered, have no dread
Contemplate eternity,
You will be forever free,
Home before dark to heaven led.
I must hurry on my way
When clouds are black
I won't look back
My home seems far away.

Feathers From Heaven
There's an angel in God's heaven
Dropping feathers from above
Each time we say a fervent prayer
She sends one with her love.
A silken one from her wing
Gently floats upon the air
Because above a voice is heard
Softly whispering a prayer.
Her wings look bedraggled
Though she doesn't care at all.
The prayers that come to heaven
Upon her ears do fall.
Feathers from her wings
Scatter on the ground below.
Please stoop to pick one up,
Your love for her to show.
When you get to heaven
Find the angel with small wings.
Her open arms will greet you
And a welcome she will sing.
Windows to the Soul
Reflected in your eyes...
windows to the soul...
lie honesty, love and
truth unspoken told.
Your inner spirit
your countenance belies
but God's love is seen
in the glow from your eyes.
Gazing upon your face
tells me all I need to know
you are a loving friend
your sparkling eyes do show.
Our paths crossed
in God's time and way
He brought us together
and that's how we'll stay.
Friends are a gift
along life's winding road
you help me to carry
that extra heavy load.
No star in the heavens
shines as your eyes
inner warmth and strength
Cannot be disguised.
I pray for you each day
and in your eyes I see
comfort, love and care
reflected back to me.
windows to the soul...
lie honesty, love and
truth unspoken told.
Your inner spirit
your countenance belies
but God's love is seen
in the glow from your eyes.
Gazing upon your face
tells me all I need to know
you are a loving friend
your sparkling eyes do show.
Our paths crossed
in God's time and way
He brought us together
and that's how we'll stay.
Friends are a gift
along life's winding road
you help me to carry
that extra heavy load.
No star in the heavens
shines as your eyes
inner warmth and strength
Cannot be disguised.
I pray for you each day
and in your eyes I see
comfort, love and care
reflected back to me.
Feeder of the Birds
She faithfully arrives,
Her presence they await
They know they will survive,
For her birds she's never late.
While perched upon her wings,
Her birds taste many treats,
She never fails to bring,
Heaven's crumbs...so sweet.
Concerned for His creations
God protects one and all
Meeting expectations
Of creatures great and small
About tomorrow never fret
God will meet our needs
Problems He won't forget,
If such tiny birds he feeds.
Her presence they await
They know they will survive,
For her birds she's never late.
While perched upon her wings,
Her birds taste many treats,
She never fails to bring,
Heaven's crumbs...so sweet.
Concerned for His creations
God protects one and all
Meeting expectations
Of creatures great and small
About tomorrow never fret
God will meet our needs
Problems He won't forget,
If such tiny birds he feeds.
Whispering Winds
By the glow of the moon, wind blowing her hair, faithful she waits for one who does care. His breath is the wind, making waves on the sea, in a lightning-split sky His power we see. On long, lonely nights with no one to share, she can glance at the sky, and know He is there. As the wind's ferocity ceases its din, her soul hears His whisper and echoes within. Though others may leave avoiding your pain, count on Our Lord - He'll always remain. He waits in the wind, the water and sky; bestowing grace in unending supply. |
On The Edge of a Cloud
On the edge of a cloud
I peer down at the crowd,
hoping someone glances up at me
for today I have sights
I want them to see,
and we'll visit them silently.
Fly away with me now,
come away somehow;
cling to my strong silver wings,
and you'll see many things
that others have not been allowed.
We shall soar through the air,
with no worry or care,
I will take you to heaven's gate,
but we'll only stop and wait;
while the wind combs your hair -
you're only a visitor there.
Higher and higher as on wings of a dove,
You will view God's perfect love.
See the eagle keeping pace,
With such beauty and grace,
As the wind lifts him farther above.
Upon the ocean's waves we'll ride
feel the salt air, touch the foamy tide,
You need not harbor fear,
For our God is with us here,
And will stay right by our side.
Our journey nears its end,
but today we did transcend
all facets of time and space
by God's unending grace;
and one day you'll take my place,
on the edge of a cloud,
peering down at the crowd.
Angel in a Storm
Battered by the wind and hail
tossed and tangled in a gale,
the angel fought to keep her grip
but from the sky she slowly slipped.
She lay upon the cold, dank ground,
surveying wounds...no one around,
her wings were soaked - she could not fly,
but she forgot her God on high.
He was watching from above
with saddened heart filled with love,
He commanded that the sun appear
in an instant, she dried her tears.
The sunshine dried her wings in time,
it warmed her soul, it ceased her crying.
She flew with grace into the sky,
heavenbound and ready to fly.
Storms will come and go in life,
pain and struggles will be rife,
but God is in control and He
will give you wings to set you free!
Good Morning Lord
Good morning, Lord!
Oh what a day...
Before my tasks
Get in my way...
I need to thank you
For your gifts:
For sunshine,
Fluffy clouds,
White and blue,
Flowers kissed
With gentle dew,
Another day
To honor you.
Bless my family
Along their way,
Tend my friends -
This I pray.
Bless me too, Lord,
That I may be
A blessing to
All I see.
May my smile
Or warm embrace
Show all I meet
Your love and grace.
Thank you, Lord,
For just today
Tomorrow seems
Far away.

A Summer Place
I look forward
to summer skies
cooling breezes
and butterflies.
As winter sheds
her cloak of white
snow melts and
spring air
delights,
I gaze up to see
summer's sun,
feel its warmth,
in my mind
through meadows run.
Summer morning
washed with dew,
flowers bathed
bloom anew.
And just beyond
cotton candy clouds
I see an angel
with beauty
endowed.
I open shutters
to see her face -
what a vision,
full of grace.
Many mornings
as new day dawns
I see beauty
in sunlit morns,
a special treat
for my eyes
today an angel -
God's surprise!
to summer skies
cooling breezes
and butterflies.
As winter sheds
her cloak of white
snow melts and
spring air
delights,
I gaze up to see
summer's sun,

At Rainbow's End
As I watch the clouds drift by,
birds flying in a sunlit sky,
I see one dark cloud moving in,
and I await the thunder's din.
Lightning will be my lamp
when rain begins so cold and damp,
I'm not afraid of this small storm
for I know I'll be safe and warm.
Sometimes in life storms arise
expect them for it's no surprise -
life would not be life without pain,
clouds don't roam without rain.
But after the passing of the rage
in my book of life I turn the page,
and before my eyes I do behold
a rainbow with a pot of gold.
God sends His message loud and clear
I know a rainbow will appear,
a promise God always keeps
and so with peace I fall asleep.
God holds me in His mighty hand
upon His word I firmly stand;
seasons change...but not Our Lord,
He's dependable and much adored.
I hold tightly to my Master's hand,
with true belief I know His plan
one day my storm will pass away
A rainbow then will come to stay.
With my heart this truth I know -
He is my strength and He will show
that as winter passes into spring
seasons change and hope He'll bring.
Tender mercies rain on me
blessings shower down freely
I feel the changes in my days
so in my heart my Lord I praise!
I'll raise my voice into a song
of thanks for faith that kept me strong;
I'll stand up tall and proud and free
and thank my Lord for touching me..
Cross My Heart
Stardust
What angel girl
with face so fair,
and flowers crowning
lovely hair
blows stardust
through dark night air.
As toward the sky
with watchful eye
we gaze at light above;
this darkened night
turns colors bright,
her stardust lights our love.
The darker the night,
the brighter her light,
illuminating hearth and home,
her stars will guide,
our fears subside,
safely we may roam.

Blessed By An Angel
May the Lord of light
let the glow in your eye
twinkle in the day
and burn at night
so that others might
see your "window to the soul"
shine as a glowing coal
and guide them in their
journey into night.
May His gentle rain refresh
both body and soul
give you an angel's
hand to hold
so that when begins
the mighty wind,
thunder's booming din
you will hold fast
to your faith
and know His blessed grace
will keep you free
from fear and sin.
May the path He planned
lead you to a beauteous land,
a quiet haven
beside a stream
where you may dream
and rest a while
to reflect on God's
creations....and smile -
for He led you to a space
in this time and place
and created a sunset
your heart to beguile.
May your heart not be troubled
and may God's blessings
given freely
pass from you daily
to a stranger or a friend,
so that kindness never ends.
May you realize your worth
since the day of your birth -
touch a stranger's hand and heart...
for you play a part
in this vast universe of God
Where upon His earth you trod.
Reach for the light
that shines so very bright
to enable you to attain
our God on Heaven's throne
where you'll never be alone.
He'll greet you with
"My child, welcome home."
Angels Among Us
Angels have wings.....or so they say,
They follow you closely night and day.
Halos that glisten may be a sign
Of an angel's presence in your life and mine.
We think that angels in heaven above
May have halos that glisten and wings like a dove,
But the ones on this earth are kindly and sweet,
Who hasten to help not with wings but with feet.
They tend to the sick with nourishing meals,
Cheer them with notes; care how they feel.
They pray for recovery and work toward that end;
They don't seem to tire while others they tend.
If their tongues are silent, they open their ears;
When you're hurting they help you deal with your fears,
Bringing renewal of spirit you'll never forget
How they came to your rescue without a regret.
Oh, thank your Dear Savior for these cherished few
Who are angels of mercy you're thankful you knew!
Believe...
As I watch cascading water
And what beauty surrounds,
It strikes me as impossible
Nonbelievers can be found.
Do they think that all nature
Erupted on its own?
Can't they feel our Creator
As fierce winds are blowing?
Don't they marvel at the earth
And the mighty seas?
Did our forests evolve
From a toothpick to a tree?
What of the stars,
God's lanterns in the sky,
Do they think they appeared
From a sparkle in our eye?
Enjoy the falling snowflakes
As they land upon your face
None is like another,
God fashioned them as lace.
Should you ever wonder
How all this came to be
Gaze into your mirror
His image you will see!
And what beauty surrounds,
It strikes me as impossible
Nonbelievers can be found.
Do they think that all nature
Erupted on its own?
Can't they feel our Creator
As fierce winds are blowing?
Don't they marvel at the earth
And the mighty seas?
Did our forests evolve
From a toothpick to a tree?
What of the stars,

Do they think they appeared
From a sparkle in our eye?
Enjoy the falling snowflakes
As they land upon your face
None is like another,
God fashioned them as lace.
Should you ever wonder
How all this came to be
Gaze into your mirror
His image you will see!
Meet Me in Heaven
When I get to heaven,
and God and angels I greet,
the first thing I will do
is wait until we meet.
We shared so much in life,
its joy and its sorrows,
I can't imagine you not there
for all those glad tomorrows.
Season after season,
I'll wait by heaven's shore
I may find you in the summer,
or when spring's rain pours.
Faithful I'll stand watching
as fall leaves blow,
when winter winds arrive,
followed by blanket of snow.
Eventually I'll see you at the gates
with that smile upon your face,
and then I'll run to meet you,
and as angels we'll embrace.
Ebony and Ivory
And the Angels of the Lord
awakened to a new day.
Ebony praised her loving God,
Ivory glorified His ways.
In heaven all is perfect,
total harmony is found;
angels walk on golden streets,
peace and love surround.
awakened to a new day.
Ebony praised her loving God,
Ivory glorified His ways.
In heaven all is perfect,
total harmony is found;
angels walk on golden streets,
peace and love surround.
Where once these angels trod
on earth so long ago,
the skin of people
mattered -
they wish it were not so.
But those angels now living
with joy and love untold
know on earth sin continues
because Satan's heart is cold.
on earth so long ago,
the skin of people
mattered -
they wish it were not so.
But those angels now living
with joy and love untold

because Satan's heart is cold.
We are all brothers and sisters,
in His image we are made,
remember that in heaven
souls for bodies
we will trade!
in His image we are made,
remember that in heaven
souls for bodies
we will trade!
The Return
Jesus said He will return
not the minute nor the hour
will be ours to know
for God holds the power.
Prepare your heart
be steadfast and true,
Our Lord will come
And a battle will ensue.
He will take His people
to a place beyond the clouds,
we will rise to the heavens...
Some will cry aloud.
Soon you'll be aware
this day will be your last
your plans for the future
will never come to pass.
The battle is won,
and Jesus reigns as King,
place Him first in your heart
above everything.
The conquerer wants His children
on a white horse He will ride;
He's calling to His people
to take them to His side.
Your joy will be unending
living with the Lord,
a place has been prepared for you,
Heaven - your eternal reward!
Flowers of Spring
April showers replace
Snow's cold embrace
Thoughts turn to spring
And all the joy it brings!
Winter garments shed,
And all that appears dead,
Emerges from the sod
Blooming for our God.
Pushing through the ground
Tiny buds can be found,
Then comes the rain and sun
New life has begun.
Butterflies will soon be here
From cocoons they will appear,
And hummingbirds so sweet
Searching flowers for a treat.
This welcome gift of Spring -
Season for hearts to sing
Relish each and every day,
Before petals fall away.
As each cycle of our lives
New seasons soon arrive
All in God's perfect plan...
Each new year a gift to man!
The Quilter
Fingers fly across the cloth
loving touch, no stitches lost,
fabric strewn upon the floor,
spun gold thread galore.
Pattern picked with love,
squares float on wings of dove,
a memory sewn in each square
of days no longer there.
Boxes of necessities
by the quilter's side will be.
She sews with loving heart,
each piece a work of art.
Not only past woven inside
but hope for peace to reside;
a simple cloth becomes a prize,
future visions in quilter's eyes.
Tapestry made with pride,
tucked with heart inside;
a gift unmeasured built,
this treasured, warm, hand-made quilt.
The Empty Chair
Who was the person
Who sat in this chair?
Did they think that
No one saw them there?
Did they feel abandoned
And full of despair,
Hoping that someone
Would soon be aware?
As they sat every night
By the pale moonlight
Not watching the
Stars above,
Did they hope that
This night
Someone would see
Their plight
And give them the
Gift of love?
If only they'd glance,
Take a chance
To look at the stars above -
They'd see an angel
Watching every night,
Her sorrow reflecting
Her love.
Their loneliness has been
Erased by their
Savior above
Waiting no more,
Watching the door,
They now know
only love.
So the chair sits
Empty now
But not for long
I'm sure.
For loneliness is
Everywhere and there's
Only one certain cure.
If only each of us
Would do their part
A phone call, a visit's a start..
Let someone know
Let your kindness show
And share a piece
Of your heart.

Music and roses
fill your life today and tomorrow seems so far away. Music will fade and roses will die but hope lives on for you and I. Cherish each moment in your heart Our Lord is near and won't depart. He is the rose that never dies a fragrant flower in gardens on high. He is the music that will play on a never ending lasting song. |
When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
When tomorrow starts without me,
and I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes,
all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry,
the way you did today,
while thinking of the many things,
we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you,
and each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
please try to understand,
that an Angel came and called my name,
and took me by the hand,
and said my place was ready,
in heaven far above,
and that I'd have to leave behind,
all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
a tear fell from my eye,
for all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
so much yet to do,
it seemed almost impossible,
that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
just even for awhile,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you
and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
that this could never be,
for emptiness and memories,
would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
my heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
from His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity,
and all I've promised you".
Today your life on earth is past,
but here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
but today will always last,
and since each day's the same day,
there's no longing for the past.
But you have been so faithful,
so trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things,
you knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven
and now at last you're free.
So won't you take my hand
and share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart,
for every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.
House in the Woods
Within the woods sits a home
tucked between the trees,
a place of repose
waiting for those
their comfort to appease.
Inside are cozy corners
and candles burning bright,
a welcome sign
for one to find
some dark and snowy night.
Branches of its trees
are frosted high with snow
a blanket white
covers lights
to cast a fuzzy glow.
If ever you should find yourself
within woods so deep,
follow light
warm and bright -
promising love and sleep.
Memories
Glancing back for one last look
like turning pages of a well worn book,
my mind's eye sees the memories
of little boys climbing trees,
lemonade stands in the yard
sitting 'round and playing cards
children running up the stairs
listening to their solemn prayers.
This was our home for many years
looking back brings joy and tears
for this is not just wood and stone
this place we live has been our home
more than 20 years we've spent
within these walls with tiny dents
from children playing, as they do,
Creating games....giggling too;
that piece of trim we meant to paint
a leaky faucet will not taint
the memories I hold so dear
of popcorn popping...children near;
the day my son said, "throw the keys!"
as neighbors watched delightedly
they landed high upon the roof
while below I tried to look aloof.
I turn another page and see
Our "open door" policy -
friends and family please come in
don't mind the mess or the din
ignore the marks upon the wall
where our kids stood to see how tall
they'd grown this year and then compare
last year's marks to higher ones there;
a wall with handprints hung with pride
the fridge with pictures magnetized
It's time to leave and lock the door
yet I keep gazing at the floor
where wrestling matches took place
and nearby lay a shattered vase...
things I thought I'd never miss
now I view with tenderness;
goodbye my home - I'll miss you so
for within your walls our love did grow.
I'll Be There
Fleeting thoughts pass through my mind
Did I listen today, did I say too much?
I pray my heart was not unkind
And through my prayers I did not rush.
Were my footsteps hurried and a bit too loud
To notice the stranger beside?
Could I have lost someone in the crowd
Who needed a hand to guide?
Though silence may be golden...it's true,
Many times your voice can calm a fear.
Soothing words, a hand to touch
Can see you through,
Give hope and wipe away a tear.
As an angel perches on a rock above
To watch with sadness life below,
Her heart brims with empathy and love
For in her soul the truth she knows.
No halos needed, no shimmering wings
There's an angel in you waiting to care;
So follow your heart, oh let it sing,
Be an angel to someone...
Your kindness is needed somewhere.
Did I listen today, did I say too much?
I pray my heart was not unkind
And through my prayers I did not rush.
Were my footsteps hurried and a bit too loud
To notice the stranger beside?
Could I have lost someone in the crowd
Who needed a hand to guide?

Angel Falls
|
She lives in quiet beauty,
waterfalls surround; cascading flowers are her bed upon the ground. Stars are her cover, a perfect nightlight; a moon for a lantern - total delight. Springtime she relishes flower perfumed air; summer sun warms her silky golden hair. When autumn leaves fall feather wings cover; on fall's chill nights 'neath her wings she does hover. Though winter winds howl, her good spirits remain she knows in her soul soon will come spring's refrain Neither worry nor fret as you travel life's way dispel your fears God provides strength each day.

So, you don't believe the words above,
You'll just have to take my word,
I'm on this laptop night and day
It's really quite absurd!
If you don't think I'm so serious,
You'll find out very soon
I can't be 2 places at one time,
So I opted for one room.
It's got a paper holder,
But some fall on the floor,
It gets a little cramped in there
But it has a roomy door.
It serves a dual purpose,
And it meets most all my needs
But if you come to visit,
Then please do take heed.
There's a station 'round the corner
Where my habits are well known
So if I can't accommodate your needs,
It's your home away from home!
There's just a minor problem
When I'm truly in a rush,
I think and lean back in my chair,
And the next sound is a flush!
